Tributes are fabricated to those who change the track of history. It is right and good for the memorial of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. now stands great in the heart of our nation’s Capital. Even as we make good as understanding of Dr. King’s inheritance by visiting this beautiful monument; we can credit the legacy of Dr. King by following his example, by helping and volunteering in our communities.
Dr. King called this valuable service as the “new definition of greatness.” He believed that the work we accept on behalf of others is the most significant work of all. He devoted his life to this belief that advancing equality, social justice and economic prospect for all Americans. Dr. King disputes all of us to do our part to build a more wonderful union.
For two decades our nation has marked the achievable life of Dr. King with a national Day of Service. At present, Americans from every state will distribute meals, refurbish schools and community centers, gather food and clothing, sign up adviser, and sustain veterans and military families, and more. Thousands of AmeriCorps and Senior Corps members will provide a hand to community-based projects. Individuals and groups of all ages and backgrounds will come together that Dr. King would have wanted in service.
